I think the contemporary writers describe Austen’s characters without take into account the context, it’s impossible to analyse characters from the Victorian Era like a character from the XXI century. They are imposing their opinions which is restricting the reader’s point of view, most of the articles are biased and and force us to choose a side, like Melissa said the articles are very though against Mr Darcy.
My favourite character is for sure Mr Darcy because he followed the foot step of the tragedic characters even if at first he couldn’t manage to declare properly his feelings to Lizzie, but at the end the passion between the two is finally possible.
